Music has led Joel to amazing places like Peru, India, Japan, Scandinavia and France; musical collaborations and kinships in Montreal infused me with Afro-Peruvian, Columbian, and Cuban musical vocabularies. One of Joel’s first mentors in Latin music was Columbian-born timbalero Joé Armando.
